Great tablet but a bit slow at certain games. Really good for entertainment streaming and lots of space still. Good job thanks.

My old tablet died after 4 years (for a DragonTouch it did pretty dang fabulous), and I was in the market for a new one. I needed a tablet for computer functions, not phone functions, and needed something cheap. This tablet came recommended by multiple sites, cost a reasonable amount, and is Levovo – a brand I use often. So far, loving it! The screen quality is great, the battery has lasted 4 days on one charge (so far!!!), and it’s the right size.

The media could not be loaded.

Sorry to all the 1 and 2 star reviews for not knowing what you were buying.
This is an entry level tablet, that can perform minimum multitasking, and is suited best for casual games and reading/video watching.
As such it works perfectly as a tablet for my kid.
Setting it up in kids mode was something of a hassle: but that’s on Google, not Lenovo. Tip: remove user under Parental Controls, and suddenly Settings will stop crashing. You don’t want kids to have access to Settings, so this is by design. But I found after removing and adding the child’s account to the tablet a few times the Settings eventually remained unlocked. Otherwise adding Wifi and changing minor settings was a bit of a hassle in that I had to remove the child user each time.
Also: the version I received was the BUSINESS version. Plus: no bloatware, like… none. This is the most vanilla Android experience I have ever had. HOWEVER this negative: Business issued devices do not seem to be on Lenovo’s Android upgrade matrix, so I can’t seem to upgrade the OS past Android 9. Which is fine I guess… We all know old/slow devices start deteriorating with new software, so whatever, my kid doesn’t know the difference between Android 9 and 11.
Overall no complaints from the little one thus far.
8 inch form factor makes for a perfect e-book reader without being too large and clunky to carry about.

I love my Lenovo tablet! This tablet has a lot going for it. I was looking to replace my Dragon Touch, that only lasted 10 months, and the extra money it cost for this tablet is so worth it. I’ve also learned my lesson and got an extended warranty. I’ve just never needed extended warranties with my Kindles since they are such work horses and last a couple of years, at least. My husband uses an old Kindle of my daughters that has got to be at least 5 years old.

I am writing this review as a quadriplegic with limited use of my hands. So some of the things I’m going to mention are a particular use for me, but I’m sure are great features for anyone.

The screen is clear and bright and doesn’t cause eye strain for me. The brightness setting gives me lots of choice on how bright I want the screen. There is a built-in eye protection setting if you want to reduce the blue light coming from your screen. I do not use it because I prefer the brighter screen.

The on screen keyboard gives me a lot more options for use than my Dragon Touch did. It is a good size and isn’t as overly sensitive as my Dragon Touch keyboard. It gives me a little more time to linger on a letter before it switches to the alternate keys (a verses ã). It also has a predictor pro built in which my last tablet did not have. The microphone setting, so that I can do speech to text, is very good. The keyboard also comes with its own clipboard setting.

The speaker is acceptable, but then again, I’m not an audiophile who needs amazing speakers. I do have it hooked up to my Bose Bluetooth speaker, which gives me very nice sound. The speaker works for general web browsing and YouTube viewing.

There is plenty of space for all my apps. I haven’t even inserted a microSD card, because I still have hordes of space left. It feels fast enough when loading and I haven’t noticed any lag time.

I love the built-in setting which allows me to wake up my tablet by either double tapping it or raising it up. It’s very hard for me to be constantly pushing the power button to wake it up. This feature alone is a big deal for me.

I like that there is a indicator light that tells me when my tablet is charging (red, charging – green, charged) which also can be set to flash when I get a notification. Both features can be disabled under the display settings. I would think that the flashing light might be very useful for the seeing impaired.

It doesn’t take long to charge and holds a charge for a lot longer than my Dragon Touch. I also use a Kindle HD (which I love, but it’s obviously not Android) and my cell phone, so I do not use this for really long periods of time. Even with sporadic usage I get two days of use out of it before I have to charge it again. I also don’t notice any warmth or heat coming from the battery when I charge it.

I’m sure as I get to know my tablet better I will find other settings and options to explore. Overall, I am very happy with my new tablet. Great job Lenovo!

I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. I did not want to order an Amazon fire tablet eight. But after trying the Lenovo for just three weeks, I was very very disappointed on how slow it is.

Pros. Huge props on the screen quality as it’s very clear and looks like 1080 P even a close because it’s hard to tell a difference on an 8 inch tablet.
The battery life is insanely long! You can easily go all day into the next

    However the Cons

    Cons
It is insanely slow after you load about three additional applications that you normally use. At times it takes up to four seconds to load an app. Once the app is loaded, it’s fine,. But going in between apps, and how slow the screen rotates from any given angle is 100% frustrating and will drive you nuts!

I purchased the fire tab 8+2022 to see if I was imagining things. The fire tab 8+ is at least six times faster and everything and I mean everything and even the screen quality is better although I think the mono speaker of the Lenovo is better than the two speakers on the tab fire 8+2022. So regrettably I had to send this one back and I’m actually getting a renewed fire tablet 10+ for only $109. You can get the 10 renewed for only $79 and I guarantee you you’ll have a much better experience in this Lenovo, unfortunately

You can watch how to load google apps on the fire tablet switch is very easy and you’ll have a tremendous lightning fast budget machine regardless if you choose the Amazon 8+2022 or the Amazon fire 10+2021. But do yourself a favor and pass on this one the reviews you were seeing are very old and this does not work with new technology applications.
