This GPU is awesome! If you have really good airflow, the GPU will be lucky to hit 66c when playing video games on max settings. This Graphics card is worth the price!!! you will get your ROI with this GPU. 🙂

RE: Powercolor Hellhound 7900 GRE
My grandson and I built a new machine last December (2023), an AMD build centered around the 7800v3d CPU. When it came to the GPU, we used a 4070 from another machine waiting and hoping for better pricing on AMD cards, in particular the 7900 XT. When the 7900 GRE was announced we were all –in waiting for reviews and a fix on the overclocking. The GRE was exactly what we wanted, a stock card that beats the 4070 Super and overclocks to compete with the 7900 XT. We picked the Powercolor Hellhound because it checked all the boxes, price, size, weight, great thermals, quiet, large factory OC, glowing reviews and ability to overclock with meaningful results (uses Samsung memory rated 20Gbps).
The first thing we did was launch each game, check for Nvidia options and turned them off, uninstalled the Nvidia drivers using DDU and shut down. After installing the Hellhound, we disconnected the network and booted up, installed the latest drivers (24.6.1) and launched Furmark 1 and ran the 1440p benchmarking and then did the same for Furmark 2. Furmark is one of several benchmarking tools for windows and linux (Furmark 2) which is used for troubleshooting GPU ‘s, also provides a quick benchmark for OpenGL and Vulcan (Furmark 2). The results were what we were looking for to show everything was ok; Furmark 1: GRE- 15445, 4070 –11926 (the GRE is 23% faster) Furmark 2: GRE-12378, 4070-9299 (the GRE is 25% faster). The most meaningful way to benchmark a GPU is in-game testing, without repeating an entire review for the Powercolor Hellhound 7900 GRE a brief recap follows:
Relative Performance (25 games, all cards stock, no user OC):
Hellhound vs 4070 (Hellhound is 17% faster)
Hellhound vs 4070 Super (Hellhound is 5% faster)
Hellhound vs 4070 Ti Super (Ti Super is 10% faster)
Hellhound vs 7900 XT (7900 XT is 14% faster)
The three games (no user OC) that I regularly play with this machine are Avatar FOP, Halo Infinite and Doom Eternal the Nvidia optimized settings were left unchanged and when launched for the first time with the GRE all AMD options were turned off except for Radeon Anti-Lag. The first thing I noticed; the image quality was significantly improved. I thought I left some option on, so I double checked. Halo Infinite and Doom Eternal saw the biggest change, I ‘ve been playing Doom Eternal since launch and I never thought it could look this good. Performance wise Avatar FOP (with FSR/FG set to Quality, this is the setting I used for the 4070) FPS improved 10+% with better lows, Halo Infinite no change with these settings in FPS but noticeably better image quality, Doom Eternal this was like a new game, unbelievable graphics and 12+% increase in FPS, the 4070 also used DLSS (balance), I just might play this again from the beginning.
The Powercolor Hellhound 7900 GRE is an incredible card, the 7900 GRE was listed as the penultimate card for 2024 and I agree, but this card should be number 1. I highly recommend this card for anyone looking for an affordable gaming GPU that does it all.

This graphics card has some thermal headroom for overclocking.
Just make sure your computer case is large enough to accommodate this card, it’s bigger than it might seem.
I’ve had no issues with it so far. I’m able to max out every game I own and play brand new games at max graphics settings at 1440p and I have great framerates. often times hitting the limit of my monitor at 144Hz.

Run smoothly, and my settings on every game are now at High.
Very quiet too

The Radeon RX 7900 XTX has proven to be an outstanding graphics card in my experience. From a performance standpoint, it excels in every game I’ve thrown at it, handling even the most demanding titles without any slowdown. Whether running at stock settings or overclocked, the card maintains smooth gameplay with high frame rates across the board.
One of the most impressive aspects of the RX 7900 XTX is how cool it runs, even when overclocked. AMD’s cooling solution is highly effective, ensuring stable temperatures under heavy loads. This is a huge plus for anyone concerned about thermal performance in high-demand scenarios.
As for overall design, the card is well-built and feels sturdy, though the size could be seen as a drawback. Like many high-end GPUs in this class, it is large and heavy, which often requires a support bracket to protect the motherboard’s PCI-E slot. However, this seems to be an industry standard for cards of this caliber, so it’s not a dealbreaker.
In summary, the RX 7900 XTX delivers fantastic performance, runs cool even under stress, and is a top-tier choice for gamers looking for a high-performance card. Its size is the only minor drawback, but given the power it packs, it’s a worthy trade-off. A simple support bracket or a case with a vertical mounting option complete negates this drawback.

I bought the RX 7900 XTX to upgrade my gaming PC and I am very happy with my purchase. This card is a beast and can handle any game I throw at it with ease. Here are some of the things I liked about it:
– The RGB lighting is amazing and customizable. I synced it up with my ASUS Hero X 570 motherboard using Armory Crate and made it react to music, sounds, games, and movies. It looks awesome and adds to the immersion.
– The price is very reasonable for the performance. It is way cheaper than the RTX 4080 and performs about the same or even better in some cases. It is definitely worth the money.
– The cooling and noise are excellent. I haven’t had any coil whine even on overclocked mode and at 100% load. The fans are quiet and keep the card cool under stress. The card ran at about 85°C on quiet mode and sometimes lower, and about 95°C on overclock mode. It has a max safe temp of 110°C according to AMD before throttling happens, but it never reached that for me.
– The features are impressive. I like the AMD Freesync technology that eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. I also like the Adrenaline UI that lets me tweak the settings, monitor the performance, and update the drivers easily. The card performed much better after I updated the driver with Adrenaline, so make sure to do a clean install on any card to avoid problems.
– The design is sleek and sturdy. The card has a metal backplate and a black and red color scheme that matches my build. It also has a dual BIOS switch that lets me choose between performance and quiet modes.
– The AMD Smart Access Memory is a bonus. I used a Ryzen 7 3800x CPU and it ran just fine with no bottlenecking. This feature allows the CPU to access more of the GPU memory, boosting the performance even further.
– The switch from Nvidia to AMD was smooth and satisfying. I always used Nvidia cards before, but this was my first time going with an AMD graphics card. I’m really glad I gave AMD a chance. They have improved a lot and offer great products at competitive prices.
– **The performance in different games was amazing. I monitored three games in AMD Adrenaline and here are the results:**
**Hogwarts Legacy: No ray tracing, quiet mode, ultra settings with AMD FSR quality, 4K resolution with a 120 FPS cap (because that’s my gaming TV’s refresh rate). With a playtime of 68 minutes in the castle area mainly, I got an average FPS of 87.5. The game looked stunning and ran smoothly.
**Destroy All Humans: Max settings, quiet mode, 4K resolution with a 120 FPS cap. With a playtime of 47 minutes, I got an average FPS of 103.8. It stayed at 120 FPS most of the time except when I went into the saucer, but it stayed above 100 FPS. The game was fun and responsive.
**Spyro Reignited Trilogy: Max settings, quiet mode, 4K resolution with a 120 FPS cap. With a playtime of 21 minutes, I got an average FPS of 111.4. It stayed at 120 FPS most of the time as well. The game was colorful and smooth.
The RX 7900 XTX is a great graphics card that delivers amazing performance, features, and aesthetics. It can run any game at high resolutions and settings without breaking a sweat. It is also cheaper and quieter than its competitors. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful and affordable gaming card. You won’t regret it!

You get a box with just the gpu in it, not the accessories advertised with the limited edition model. The packaging is also different that seen in youtube review for the limited edition card.
all in all nothing wrong with the card however not as advertised here.
