  1. Jenni K.

    Pros:
    Speakers
Ports on back of monitor (especially the headphone port)
    75hz refresh rate
    5ms response time
    Beautiful picture
    Sturdy feel
    Wall mountable

    Cons:
    Height is not adjustable
I sometimes wish the screen could be tilted down just a tad further (I like to lay in bed and watch movies)

I’ve had this monitor for 2 weeks now and I am seriously loving it. I honestly don’t think you could find a monitor with as many features as this one for the same price.

I built myself a PC about 3 weeks ago, and I thought I would not need a monitor as I had both an old TV and an old monitor laying around the house. Unfortunately, after hooking everything up I hated them both! They really looked quite awful. So I wen’t ahead and looked for a monitor. I really didn’t want to have to buy speakers (because who wants ANOTHER added expense?) and I hate wearing headphones because they usually feel uncomfortable after about an hour (I’ve tried loads of designs… I guess I just have sensitive ears). So, this monitor was the perfect solution.

For just under 100$ (I believe I paid $88), you get a full HD monitor equipped with built-in speakers, 2 HDMI ports, a VGA port, an audio in port, an audio out port (so yes, you can plug headphones directly into the monitor if you like! A great feature considering most headphone cords aren’t long enough to reach the port on the actual PC tower), and of course, the DC-in port for the power.

I actually bought this monitor FOR the speakers, something that many reviewers advised against. However, I am quite pleased. If you’re an audiophile or you plan to listen to a lot of music, then perhaps you won’t be happy with the speakers. However, I enjoy them for a myriad of activities. I do use them to listen to music, but also a lot for watching YouTube/Facebook videos and streaming TV shows and movies. I personally haven’t noticed any buzzing and the sound quality seems pretty good to me. Maybe I’m not very picky, or maybe the other reviewers have been VERY picky, but the speakers are really nice to have in my opinion.

This monitor is also capable of 75hz refresh rate rather than the basic 60 you’ll get on most budget monitors, so if you are a gamer, you can achieve a bit higher of fps than you would with other monitors of the same price. I’ve not played games at more than like 30fps (until now), so I can’t vouch for whether or not 75 noticeably better than 60 or not. Either way, the games I have played on this monitor so far (Tera and Revelation Online) have looked beautiful.

The picture looks great and setup was incredibly easy. Just plug it in and that’s pretty much it. The default settings looked good to me, so I just left it that way, but changes are made easily enough via the buttons on the back of the monitor. Some people were griping about this, especially the fact that the power button is on the back, but I don’t really find this inconvenient. The power button actually feels different than all the others (it has a little bump) and it is furthest to the bottom, so its VERY easy to locate by touch.

I would say this monitor is definitely worth the money!

I recieved the monitor a day or 2 ago and have been using it with my Steam Deck Oled when docked. I’m mostly playing Elden Ring and Fallout New Vegas. I like that there are many adjustments in the menu. I must admit that the games do look great, especially after making a few tweaks here and there. Setup is easy. The speakers function fine, but are not as loud as the steam deck’s built-in speakers. They are usable, but I just ordered a sound bar here on Amazon as an easy upgrade.
The stand is stable and the monitor is a good-looking unit with a modern design. I think that it’s a great gaming monitor for the price.

I will start with the fact that I do not understand the intricacies of gaming graphics so I cannot speak on anything there. What I can say as a full-time college student and light gamer is that this monitor is wonderful! Super easy to get set up, looks really nice when I play games or watch movies, and has yet to give me any trouble. I use plug-in speakers, so I’m not entirely sure how good they sound. The buttons on the back let you change the color brightness and tint of your screen; I’ve cycled through them all, and they give you plenty of options. I’ve used it to connect to both a laptop and a desktop, and everything runs fine.
It seems fairly priced and works great, so I do plan on purchasing another monitor from this company to finish my desktop setup!

The 22-inch Sceptre 3R Series E225W-19203R Monitor is a good price, plug and play easy to use, has nice pictures, a built-in speaker, 2 HDMI ports, and a great monitor, I highly recommend it.

As others have mentioned, while not “ideal” this monitor is good for the price (I paid less than $70 US when I purchased my monitor).

I was previously using an aging 23 inch TV as my “monitor”. However, that TV was in the process of dying, so I found this monitor on Amazon. After a few minutes of setup, the monitor worked to provide video and audio to both my computer (a Raspberry Pi) and my XBox series S (both devices connected via an HDMI switch I have).

While this monitor is not what I would call “perfect”, it does do a decent job of meeting all of my “must have” needs. In my ideal world, I would have liked the monitor control buttons to be on the front (for example on the bottom of the bezel) where they would have been more easily reachable, instead of the awkward action of moving your hand to the rear of the monitor every time you want to adjust the monitor (even when that adjustment is just raising or lowering the audio volume). Also, even with an “external speaker” (which I have) the sound isn’t great. Still the video is decent and the sound is functional, so I have little complaints on the lack of “premium features” on this “budget monitor”.

NOTE: One thing I did find out (from experimentation with my monitor) is that you can turn this monitor on/off with an external switch that you plug the monitor’s power adapter into. This is handy, as you can position that external switch to be easy to reach, preventing you from needing to reach around to the back of the monitor to use the official monitor power button.

NOTE: When I first tried this monitor with my XBox, I was getting an annoying buzz on the audio. However, I eventually tracked this problem down to the XBox audio settings. Apparently my old TV had some support for “Dolby Stereo”, and so I had previously enabled that audio option in my XBox. The problem was when I switched to this monitor (which lacks Dolby audio), there was a mismatch between what audio the XBox was trying to send and what this monitor could accept. Once I realized that was the problem, it was a simple matter to go into the XBox audio settings and tell the console to only send basic uncompressed stereo to the monitor (and the buzz problem immediately went away).
