I bought this adapter because of the relatively low price and TP-Link name. I was expecting adequate performance for a browsing only desktop now needing wifi. I was blown away by the instant recognition by Windows 10 (yep still 10 in 10/24) and the speed of over 150Mb on 5GHz. Very good reception as I saw over 20 neighborhood APs. Extremely good value, easy setup, and most importantly performance. If your AP supports 5GHz, you want this device.

Needed a wifi connection for a desktop pc running Win11 pro at work, and this little guy works PERFECTLY! Didn’t need to install drivers, easy plug-n-play, and the antenna does a great job in pulling the signal in and making a rock-solid connection. It’s small enough to not get it the way, but performs great. For the price, I don’t think you’ll find a better wifi adapter! Highly recommended!

It felt really stiff when I first got it. Like if I tried to bend it it was going to break but after the initial putting it into its position and getting it plugged in because my USP ports are sideways (thank you, Dell.) But luckily the se definitely fit and can I adjust to the angle that I need it to. And please excuse the mess in the photo. I had no problems in selling it. It was literally plug and play even though they sent a disc with it, That honestly 99% of new computers wouldn’t even accept cuz the mini disc(let alone any disk) But my Windows 10 computer was very easily able to install it with no issues and it works perfectly! I am a gamer and so I don’t see any lag different between that one and my old Netgear one that broke. I’d love to install one in the actual computer instead of using a USB port, but I can’t seem to find one that’ll fit my machine. Thank you. Considering this computer has more USB ports (8) than I know what to do with. It doesn’t bother me much to have an additional USB device. So it was a great value for the money, it was compatible, the speed is decent and so far the quality is good. So it’s like you to the seller for making these items affordable, functional and most of all useful.

One major drawback of this device is the lack of clear instructions for downloading and installing the firmware. It would be highly beneficial to include a QR code or a simpler method to access the software. Additionally, the device performs best when the internal Wi-Fi system is disabled. If not disabled, the system struggles to determine which Wi-Fi network to use, leading to poor performance due to the confusion between the two available Wi-Fi options.

In 2018 my internet provider made a change to increase speed and my laptop got slower, so I bought a desktop with double speed internet connection. If became very fast. A few months ago, my wifi internet connection started to drop and was almost unusable at 5ghz. The modem and computer are in the ame location. The modem is the same model. I had a service call and the connection to my house and to the modem were checked. The modem was replaced, but the problme remained. I had a Windows 11 laptop next to the desktop and it worked fine. I decided that the problem was with the desktop wireless adaptor and purchased a dual speed USB wireless adaptor. 2.2ghz worked better but 5ghz was unusable. I thought that there was some interruption in the signal and that an adaptor with an anttenna might help. Installation was easy, CD for installation and plugging into the usb connection. No dropped internet since the installation.

This ethernet “stick” works great. I stewed and stewed to make my computer work to no avail. I am not computer savvy but a friend knew how to get the computer working. It was easy to install…just plugged it into one of the USB ports on the front of my computer tower. Instant service…until I moved two months later. It was accidentally bent very slightly in the move. I didn’t think it needed any TLC. I should have taken better care of it, but because it got bent slightly, I was dead in the water! I ordered a new “stick” when I discovered the problem. I am now enjoying an excellent internet connection again!
