I bought this Seagate NAS hard drive to expand my network-attached storage (NAS) system, and it has been an excellent choice. The drive is specifically designed for NAS use, and you can tell—it’s built for 24/7 operation and delivers consistent performance without a hitch.

The installation was smooth, and the drive has been running flawlessly since I added it to my setup. Transfer speeds are impressive, even when handling large files, and the drive operates quietly, with no noticeable heat buildup. It’s reassuring to know that Seagate offers solid reliability for critical data storage in a NAS environment.

The best part is that this drive offers a great balance between performance, capacity, and value. If you’re looking for a hard drive that can handle continuous operation and heavy data use in a NAS, I highly recommend this Seagate NAS drive.

I recently purchased an internal hard drive and I am extremely impressed with its performance. The installation process was a breeze and I was able to set it up in no time. The added storage capacity has been a game changer for me, as I now have plenty of space to store all of my important files and documents without having to constantly worry about running out of space. The data transfer speeds are also top notch, allowing me to quickly transfer large files without any lag or delays.

One of the things I appreciate most about this internal hard drive is its reliability. I have had no issues with any data loss or corruption, which gives me peace of mind when it comes to storing my important files. Additionally, the hard drive is very quiet during operation, which is great for anyone who works in a quiet environment.

Overall, I highly recommend this internal hard drive to anyone in need of additional storage space. The performance, reliability and ease of use make it a great investment for anyone looking to upgrade their computer’s storage capabilities. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I am confident that others will be too.

I have two of these in my NAS; they’re far from the densest drives available today, but they’re fairly cheap, and they work great. They’re also quieter; none of the clicking and rattling noises that the 8TB+ IronWolfs make, so my NAS in my living room isn’t a burden on the family. And because they’re CMR, not SMR, they maintain consistent performance no matter how much data they’re storing.

While the drives appear to be operational, and I am using one of them now, I am very displeased with the way the drives were shipped. The two drives, in their little plastic sleeves, were simply tossed into a plastic bag with no padding or ESD protection whatsoever. I don’t know who decided this was a good idea, but it goes against every recommended treatment of a hard disk drive. The plastic bag was not gently handled, as shown by the condition of the bag. The plastic bags around the drives show evidence of impact and abrasion. I don’t know how this will affect the lifespan of the drives, but it certainly won’t improve it. Whoever is responsible for packaging such delicate electronic items needs to be held to a higher standard.
I tried to find a place to tell Amazon, but if it exists I was unable to locate it, hence the product review. I did give it 5 stars because the drive looks like it works, but only time will tell.
Update: I had to return the second drive as it was defective. Noisy rotation, clicking sound as the head was seeking, and never would initialize. Very likely the drive failed due to shipping damage.

These drives work great in my Synology NAS, and the price was too good to pass up. The problem is that the drive was shipped sans the usual protective case. It was rattling around with other items in the box in only its static wrapper. I have yet to install this drive, so I do not yet know if it is damaged, but as a general rule, hard drives should never be shipped this way. I’m all for less packaging, just not for fragile items like hard drives.

These are great for a VERY DEPENDABLE Hard Drive.
I used to use nothing but Western Digital but their prices have gone up.. a lot.
I used to think Seagate drives were less reliable than Western Digital but with all the negative reviews for WD and the positive reviews for Seagate IronWolf I decided to try them.
    So far they work GREAT.

I bought this as storage for movies, music, etc. in my Gaming PC. Installation was easy and I had no issues getting windows to recognize the drive.
The drive is fairly quiet, I can hear it when it spins up when I’m accessing files on it, but after that I can’t hear it over my fans.
I’ll update this review if any problems arise, but for now I’m recommending this drive for anyone looking to add storage to their PC.
