    I’ve seen at least one reviewer confuse DRAM and SLC Caching.

    This SSD is exactly what it claim to be. It’s DRAMless, but uses part of its TLC (or QLC) NAND to offer acceptable performance. When it fills up, it runs out of spare storage to use as SLC cache and might slow down (TLC NAND is fast enough nowadays it might not). Even when empty it will occasionally slow down drastically when writing, but that’s expected due to it being DRAMless. It is surprisingly performant given the limitations and has no trouble reaching and maintaining the rated speeds in favourable workload.

    In read-heavy workloads (gaming), none of what I said matters and this drive performs well.

    Time will tell how long it lasts. Team group claims to offer a 3 year warranty, we shall see.

    This drive has been working well for the months I have had it. Not as quick as my primary drive but have had no issues with the speed and reliability so far. I am using this as a secondary drive, but it has gaming and media files. Well pleased and cost was great for a 4Tb when I purchased it.

    So From what I gather, Team Group used to make an SSD just like this called the “Vulcan” and it sold for the same price (maybe even less?) and IT HAD DRAM. DRAM is good for performance, especially on a desktop computer. Since I’m using mine in an NVR, I don’t really care about random write performance that much. So I bought 4 of these. They use a plastic chassis, and are packaged in a skimpy box – just like every other cheap SSD I’ve used.

    Ok, special call out: The 2TB model advertises a TBW of 1600. That’s pretty impressive.

    Performance is good. My Ubiquiti Unifi NVR doesn’t recognize the SMART drive health status so it doesn’t tell me a health percentage on the webpage, but in smartctl I could see that info so that’s good enough. Performance is terrific! Exactly what I was hoping for, given the price.

    Been using it in an external enclosure for storing digital movies & other MP4 video content that just takes up space on my internal drive but still want to keep. Price was good, reliability seems decent & read & write speeds seem pretty fast. Downloaded 100GB worth of video content in about a minute or so. It’s a good alternative for those not looking to spend too much on the 1TB or bigger hard drives & fits & works great in 2.5 enclosures.

    I have been using this SSD nonstop for about 6 months now to run my Minecraft Server so it is constantly having read/write processed performed and it is still working great, I checked the health on it and it was still high. Also great for transferring files and moving files around, great SSD for a server, I would even use this on my main rig If i wasn’t using it on a server.

    I was using this with a new PCIe – SATA3 interface along with a 10 year old internal docking station. All the drive would do is lockup and go corrupt. Another bit of trouble shooting & I found my old docking station could not handle SATA3 speed. When the SSD was connected to the new controller it worked splendidly well. I will canx the return and will purchase a new SATA3 rated internal docking station.

    I installed Win 10 on this drive and all seemed to go well. Upon booting the new OS I received block read errors about 15 seconds into boot. I deleted all partitions, ran DiskPart Clean, recreated a formatted partition, loaded the OS again. Instant failure upon boot-up with can’t read Block 0. Repeated on another computer, always had block read errors. Returned for refund.

    If you are looking for cheap, yet fast storage that has a decent TBW life then this is pretty much it. The SSD worked right out of the box, its no Samsung 870 Pro/Evo but its decent, around the 500 mb/s mark according to CrystalDiskInfo.

    I used 2 of these to upgrade from 5400 rpm SATA drives in 2 older laptops and the performance difference was as expected, DRASTIC. With 2x 8G sticks of TeamGroup DDR3L RAM and this SSD it cost me about $50 total to breathe new life into a system that was struggling, well worth the money.

    I hesitate to review a hard drive until it has done its job for a good long time. This comes from my IT background where we used to burn in the spinning to make sure they were good. I’ve had this for awhile now so I feel comfortable giving a review. I bought this because at the time the price was unbeatable. I use it to store movies and music as well as my extensive PC game collection. So far it has worked beautifully. It was very easy to install and my PC had no problems picking it up and formatting it. Know that all you will get is the drive so you will have to come up with screws to mount it in your case. It’s fast enough to play videos and works very well to run my games. So far happy with my purchase and love the amount of storage that it has provided.

    Bought this to use 0to transfer movies for a friends Plex server and it works well. No issues and they speed was fast to transfer. I like that it was reasonably priced and has a great speed over some other sata ssd’s. I would recommend this to friend and family for easy upgrades or for a portable driver.
