Dr. Derp –
I’m writing this review after spending quality time with my ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II power supply, and I must say, I’m genuinely impressed. Right off the bat, one aspect that stands out is its incredibly smooth and linear power delivery.
Being an avid gamer, I’ve got it hooked up to my graphics card that often operates at full throttle. What struck me was the unwavering consistency in the power supply, even under such demanding circumstances. It never misses a beat, ensuring my gaming sessions are uninterrupted and my equipment runs flawlessly.
Aside from its reliable performance, this power supply comes with a few bells and whistles that I find very appealing. The OLED display, for one, is a neat feature. It adds a futuristic touch, providing useful information right at my fingertips.
Moreover, the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II is as stylish as it is functional. The sleeved cables and the Aura Sync compatibility give me the freedom to customize my setup’s aesthetics. And let’s not forget the 0dB mode – it’s so silent, you wouldn’t know it’s working hard to power up your rig.
It’s also worth noting that the 10-year warranty brings an extra layer of reassurance, underscoring the quality and longevity of this power supply.
All in all, the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II power supply has not only met but exceeded my expectations. It’s a reliable powerhouse, delivering consistent performance while adding a touch of style to my rig. This is one investment I’m truly pleased with!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II, a fully modular power supply, sets the gold standard for power supplies in the world of PC gaming and enthusiast builds.
Pros:
1. Massive Power Output: The 1200W power output is more than enough for even the most demanding PC setups. It ensures your components receive a stable and efficient power supply.
2. Fully Modular Design: The fully modular design allows you to connect only the cables you need, reducing clutter and improving cable management. This is crucial for building a clean and organized system.
3. 80+ Platinum Efficiency: The 80+ Platinum certification ensures energy efficiency, reducing power consumption and heat generation. It’s an environmentally friendly and cost-effective choice in the long run.
4. ROG Heatsinks: The integrated ROG heatsinks not only look fantastic but also help dissipate heat efficiently, ensuring the power supply runs cool under heavy loads.
5. OLED Panel: The OLED panel provides real-time information about power consumption, fan speed, and other vital stats, adding both functionality and a high-tech look to your PC.
6. Sleeved Cables: The included sleeved cables not only contribute to a clean and stylish look but also ensure durability and ease of cable management.
7. Aura Sync Compatibility: If you have other Aura Sync-compatible components, the Thor power supply syncs with them, allowing you to create a cohesive and synchronized lighting scheme for your build.
8. Zero Noise in 0dB Mode: The 135mm PWM fan is whisper-quiet, and the 0dB mode ensures that the fan remains off under low loads, further reducing noise levels.
9. Impressive 10-Year Warranty: The 10-year warranty offers peace of mind, showcasing ASUS’s confidence in the power supply’s longevity and performance.
Cons:
1. Price: The ROG Thor power supply, with all its advanced features and premium build quality, comes at a higher price point compared to standard power supplies. However, for those seeking uncompromising quality and performance, it’s a worthwhile investment.
In summary, the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II is the epitome of a high-end power supply unit. It combines extreme power output, exceptional efficiency, style, and advanced features into one sleek package. If you’re building a top-tier gaming PC or enthusiast system, this power supply is an excellent choice. It not only delivers the power your system needs but also enhances the aesthetics and functionality of your build. Highly recommended!

I got this power supply to replace my old one that had an issue with keeping my PC on. I do not regret the purchase. This power supply is perfect for my system that runs a 5950x and a 3090 FTW3 Ultra. I also use a third screen that is powered completely by the powersupply and six 120mm Lian-Li Uni Fan Infinity and two 140 mm Lian-Li Uni Fan Infinity with zero issues and some headroom if I ever wanted to upgrade to a more power hungry GPU.

I originally had a 850 W Asus Power Supply and I had trouble running a Rog Strix 3090, So when I bought this Power Supply, all my problems went away. This power supply has more power than I’ll probably ever use which is a good thing. It has all the cables you need and has so many slots in case you wanna add more components to your custom built computer tower

The ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II power supply is the backbone of my high-performance PC setup, efficiently powering my ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Formula motherboard, ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360 liquid cooler, Intel i9-14900 processor, CORSAIR DOMINATOR TITANIUM 96GB DDR5 memory, and ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition graphics card. This PSU’s 80+ Platinum certification and Lambda A++ rating are not just badges; they translate into real-world efficiency and quiet operation, even under load. The fully modular design simplifies installation and keeps my system neat, while the OLED display conveniently shows real-time power consumption. It’s a perfect fit for anyone looking to build or upgrade to a high-end gaming or professional workstation, offering unmatched reliability and performance.

This power supply is solidly constructed. Plenty of modular cables with good length. It is worth the price.

Rebuilt my PC into a smaller case while upgrading to a 4080 super, and noticed my EVGA SFX 850 had serious coil whine and the shortest cables I’ve ever seen (made it impossible to cable manage). Ordered this guy as a replacement for its ratings/classifications and knowing the cables are sleeved and the perfect SFF build length. 9/10 product – just wish it came with cable combs so I could clean up the sleeved cables a bit instead of using zipties.
No coil whine, no power draw issues, super quiet fan, and the cables are extremly nice and flexible. Running a i7-13700KF and a MSI 4080 Super Expert with zero issues.
