    I’ve had a few of these “plug and play” drives before and have VLC already installed on my computer, so I figured this would be simple enough to use. Nope. When I plug it in and insert a disc, it hums and lights up, but nothing ever happens. Going to VLC and trying to manually start it from there doesn’t work as it doesn’t recognize that there’s a disc. ONE TIME the DVD drive icon briefly showed up in my Windows folder and I was able to quickly click on it and get to the movie, but ever since then it’s back to nothing. I think there may be a connection problem because it’s constantly chiming as though connecting or disconnecting. Returning for a refund.

    This cd/dvd player works as I needed it to. I haven’t tried to write disks, and I doubt I will need to. Just using it to run some old software for my child’s school work.
